Shea butter is a edible substance extracted from the fruit of shea, a tree pushing in the wooded savannas of West Africa and whose name means "life" in the Mandingo language.
Gross (ghana)
This butter extracted from shea nut is unrefined and not transformed in any way and there can be pieces of impurities and sediments present (small pieces of shell, vegetable fibers, etc.). Although the batches vary to a certain extent, this product generally has a very strong hazelnut, spice and oily aroma which is characteristic of a pure and natural shea butter from Ghana. Various natural color inconsistencies, including darker spots and gray streaks, will also be present. It is solid at room temperature and rather hard consistency. Please note that given that it is a natural butter, the texture can vary from one lot to another and some lots may have a more grainy texture than others.
